Completed my first film test tonight at daughter’s soccer practice. 16 ft tripod and Comitok Mogo gimbal. Overall very impressed with the quality and performance, coming from theXbotGo ecosystem. 2 quick questions:
What is the exact process to connect a 2nd iPhone for remote viewing? I was able to get the phones to connect but the video stream only worked spottily. Do you connect from the phone that’s filming to the other phone or vice versa?
If I save a video from files to my camera roll, can I now delete that video from my files to free up space?
Apple’s peer-to-peer network isn’t very reliable for video streaming. It might work better if both iPhones are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. However, I wouldn’t suggest using remote viewing during recording unless you really need it. The remote viewer requires FoloCam to run an additional 1080p encoder on top of the default 4K encoder, which may put extra strain on the hardware.
You can try yourself, but I think when you save a video file to camera roll it will not create a new copy. It will just create a hard link pointing to the original file, so it won’t save space if you delete the original file.
