Hi there. I’ve been trying out the ice hockey setting on FoloCam. I’m a recovering XbotGo user. So I thought I would give this a try. The developer has been very pleasant to chat with as he answers all my questions. Hockey is still marked as “experimental.” The dev says he has been prioritizing soccer and then basketball but I could give hockey a try. I gotta say even in early beta it is just as good as XbotGo Chameleon and Falcon. I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops.
This video was recorded with the Comitok MOGO gimbal and an iPhone 16 pro. Hockey Pro. No zoom. 4k 30fps. Place about 12 metres high at centre ice. If I had the space, I would set it back a few feet because centre ice below the camera is a blind spot and tough to track through. Not that it matters too much but this is Olympic-sized ice. So, it’s about 15’ wider than NHL ice. These are U15 AA players. If you have local wifi available, you can monitor on another phone. Over 3 periods I only had to nudge the camera twice.
