You have my vote for this, and I believe there are thousands of parents that are stuck using pricey Veo and Trace subscriptions when all they need is good quality video clips to build showcase for college or recruiters. I think it will be very popular.
Just curious how it would work technically? Tracing player jersey number? Would some kind of gps tracker player can wear connect to gimbal to follow him around?
I completely agree—video quality is the biggest advantage of FoloCam. One of our beta testers just recorded a school game last night at 3× zoom with an iPhone Pro, and the footage was incredibly sharp. Unfortunately I don’t have the permission to share the video here.
If your goal is to create highlights for college recruiting, I think individual player tracking isn’t really necessary. As long as the ball is tracked reliably, the footage will be more than good enough for individual player highlights. While off-ball movement is important, it rarely made into the highlight moments.

I am thinking of watching on the other phone and using this gimbal with remote. Or are there better gimbal options for this please?
Yes, the remote can override the pan/tilt angles when the app is in control. I confirmed this with the manufacturer. But it can’t control the zoom.
I will have comitok with remote on Monday, will do a test next week with iphone 17 pro. I will try streetplay.ai for analysis, will keep you posted.
I asked the club and I cannot publicly post these videos without other parents consent. Not going to ask them, too much hassle. I will try to blur faces and post small sample clip.
