iPhone 17 Pro + FoloCam + DJI Osmo Mobile 8: Current setup stability?

Hi everyone,
I am planning to pair my iPhone 17 Pro with FoloCam and the DJI Osmo Mobile 8.

As of today, is this specific setup fully functional and reliable? I know there were some initial compatibility issues/bugs regarding tracking and app integration in the past. Have these bugs been completely resolved with recent updates?

DJI Osmo Mobile 8 should work. I added it to the list of supported gimbals after implementing a workaround. I don’t know whether DJI has fixed the bug, but if you encounter any issues, I’ll take a look.

Last night I tested the setup while recording an 11-a-side football training session.

Setup:

  • iPhone 17 Pro

  • Soccer Pro model

  • 2x zoom

  • DJI Osmo Mobile 8 gimbal

  • Camera positioned approximately 4 metres above the ground and 3 metres from the touchline

The results were excellent. The footage was very smooth and, most importantly, I experienced no issues at all with ball detection and tracking throughout the session.

I also wanted to highlight that the test was carried out in the evening, under artificial floodlights, and the system still performed extremely well. Ball recognition remained reliable even in these more challenging lighting conditions.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the performance of the Soccer Pro model with this setup.
