Unfortunately autozoom is not available using pro hockey mode.
Haven’t tried soccer mode with autozoom but won’t hurt to try for a period maybe?
Does it zoom either 1x or 1.5x but not in-between like 1.25x?
Depending on the arena 1.25x actually might be a good sweet spot if the setup if in the stands slightly elevated.
In trying to capture the near side action better I tilted and angled the gimbal just slightly forward about 5-10 degrees for a more top down view which I think probably caused the slight tilting on the far ends.
The tilt in the earlier videos was probably just bad tripod centering because it was at the maximum height because I was right close to the boards.
Not too concerned about it but more unhappy that it looks like the video quality went down post processing.
Feedback from parents has been all positive and other than the uploading and now post processing, the time commitment and effort is manageable.
Too many goals would be the biggest complaint if any. =)
Again the end goal for me is to be able to set it up once at the beginning and be confident it will capture 100% so I can sit and enjoy the game with the other parents.
Coaches can also review and see if any adjustments need to be made and of course the kids like to see themselves contribute to team success.
Unfortunately the other team player in the above highlights who put the last final goal into his own net probably won’t want to see that replay but it was great to have this video so we could figure out what exactly happened there.
I’m not sure if zoom locks in at something in between 1.5x and 1.0x or if it was gradually moving between the two. The zooming footage was very smooth.
Let me know if you try Soccer PRO for a period. Maybe I’ll try it for a period like 3rd when they flood after 2…. Looks like the next 2 weeks I’ll be filming manually.
Nov 7th weekend we are in Rochester for a tournament so there will likely be arenas that I need FoloCam. Maybe I’ll try Soccer PRO for a period then…
