If I buy the Osmo mobile 8 gimbal do I need the advanced tracking module as well to use the app?
No, you don’t need the advanced tracking module. This module is not open to third-party apps, and even if they did, it wouldn’t help much.
I will follow up - last weekend I was using DJI8+FC+Iphone 13 for the first time. General feedback 8/10, it was great in general. Two questions, which I havent been abel to answear browsing the forum:
- how to record begining of the match before the whistle (meeting the teams etc, FoloCam is searching for the ball, turning lef and right all the time, so it was hard for me to record “the grand opening” properly.
- First half (with less zoom) was more “shaky”, but when I change the zoom, gimbal was more focused on the ball, without changing the position nervously - am I right that togehtehr with zoom, accuracy raises or it is more like AI model adopts during the game? Does “tilt” may increase / decrease shakiness?
I am using Deafult Soccer game (not pro, due to the older Iphone model).

The gimbal should be able to focus on the center before the kickoff. If it doesn’t, rotate the tripod to bring the center of the field back into view, then return the tripod to its original position so that the control side of the gimbal handle is still facing backward.
Exactly. The higher the zoom level, the larger the ball appears and the easier it is to track. That’s why I always recommend 2x zoom for soccer on a full-size field.
