Took it to a 2 day ultimate frisbee tournament, 7v7 field, 80 yds long with the CoMo Gimbal and Iphone 15.
- Charging while recording - I got a 15ft usb cable to charge the phone while filming. This did work but it took a bit of trial and error. The cable NEEDS to be tied near the gimbal so that the weight of the cable is not pulling down on the phone. If it does, the gimbal will go limp and disconnect.
- Moving files - The fastest way I’ve found is using LocalSend, an app for Iphone and PC that will move the files over WiFi. I moved 3 full games (~18gb each) on to my pc in 30ish minutes. Another method that works, is using a * USB C flash drive like this and offload videos directly from the iPhone to the USB. Great portable option, and takes ~20-25min for 1 full game.
Some issues that I had
- Day 2 was 85-88F and the phone overheated while trying to use it. Tripod umbrella is definitely necessary, if anyone has any they’ve used please let me know.
- Tracking sideline movement directly under the camera. Often it really likes to focus on the near sideline movement, especially when the action on field stops or slows. I wonder if disabling auto-tilt will help but the auto-tilt does work well when play is occurring. A couple cases occurred when play was happening, but it focused on sideline movement underneath over movement on the field for a bit, but was able to readjust.
