Hi, I think the title says it all. How much is it? Who and where are you? What’s the long term plan for Folocam?
The app looks quite simple and accessible, more a PoC than worthy of a subscription at this point. Could you provide a bit more context and information rather than just comparing yourselves to others?

It’s really great to hear a fresh perspective like yours – it helps me understand what may be lacking in how the product is presented.
FoloCam is currently available on the App Store, with a free tier (unlimited 10-minute recordings) and a $50/year subscription that unlocks unlimited recording and live streaming.
It’s much more than a proof of concept. All you need is a DockKit-compatible gimbal, such as the Insta360 Flow Pro, Insta360 Flow 2 Pro, DJI Osmo Mobile 8, or Comitok Mogo. The AI tracking algorithm runs directly on the iPhone’s neural engine to detect the ball and control the gimbal via DockKit, allowing it to follow the action automatically.
I’m the developer behind FoloCam, and also the creator of ActionStitch. Through building ActionStitch, I’ve accumulated a strong foundation in video processing and computer vision, which led me to develop FoloCam as a low-cost but high-quality solution in this space.
In terms of long-term direction, FoloCam is aiming to become a full replacement for traditional automated sports cameras by:
Improving tracking robustness (especially in crowded scenes)
Adding production features (scoreboard, highlights, etc.)
Expanding sport coverage and use cases
Continuing to leverage advances in iPhone hardware instead of requiring proprietary devices
As an early-stage product, there’s still work to do on presentation and polish, and that’s something I’m actively improving alongside the core technology.
Thanks for the honest input – I really appreciate it. Let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like to hear more about.
